Bacon

from The Rock Barn
and Charlottesville’s Finest Chefs

A selection of Charlottesville’s finest locally owned restaurants will be on site offering 2-3 bacon-themed dishes.  You’ll have the chance to sample dishes from a James Beard nominated chef, a dish from a Forbes Five Star resort or a dish from your favorite diner.

Each chef will showcase a dish made with bacon from The Rock Barn as well as other bacon creations of their own. Restaurants working with The Rock Barn include: Ivy Provisions, The Ivy Inn, MayaDr. Ho’s Humble Pie, Blue Moon Diner & many others!

Beer

from Starr Hill Brewery

Starr Hill will be offering a variety of their local brewed beers with some specific recommendations for certain dishes.

“We’re thrilled to be a part of Cured and to bring back our award-winning rauchbier, Smoke Out, which pairs with just about every dish offered by these great local restaurants,” said Starr Hill’s Brewmaster, Robbie O’Cain. “It’s bacon and beer – what more do you need?”

CURED Cup

to benefit Local Food Hub

Following their tastings, patrons will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite restaurant. One ballot is included with GA tickets and additional are available for $1. All proceeds will go to the Local Food Hub.

Local Food Hub is a nonprofit that partners with Virginia farmers to increase community access to local food. It provides the support services, infrastructure, and market opportunities that connect people with food grown close to home.

The official CURED Cup trophy is proudly provided by Keller & George Jewelers.

Weeks could be spent traveling the area and experiencing the best of its culinary offerings. Now, these talented purveyors, chefs and brewers come together in one place on one day to offer a variety of tastings for one price.

The brand new festival will celebrate the thriving local food scene in Central Virginia with a selection of Charlottesville’s finest locally owned restaurants offering small plates of bacon-themed dishes. Featured restaurants will include BBQ Exchange, Blue Moon Diner, Brookville, Citizen Burger Bar, Dr. Ho’s Humble Pie, Fossett’s (Keswick Hall), Ivy Provisions, Maya, Rapture, and the Ivy Inn, with more to be announced soon.

Buzzard Hollow Boys were formed in 2005 in Charlottesville, Virginia.  Collectively these four members have been playing together for some 25 plus years.  Buzzard Hollow Boys are a musical landscape somewhere between the Dust Bowl and the Mississippi Delta.

Tim Anderson sings and plays acoustic guitar and 6 string banjo.  Jeff Saine plays lap and pedal steel, accordion and guitar. Sonny lane plays the big plywood upright bass.  Kurt Dressel plays acoustic and electric guitar.
